Finance Think Tank
An EEDA funded ‘Think Tank’ in the Eastern Region has been investigating the level of financial support systems required to encourage a greater breadth of social economic activity to be generated and sustained.
Milton Keynes South Midlands Strategic Growth Area (MKSMSG)
In response to the proposed growth in housing development for the wider region VAL has joined with other CVS for discussions on the needs of local communities as these new communities emerge, as well as the impact for local areas affected by the growth. These are early days, however, regional planning developments are now well in hand and the community and social welfare aspects need to influence and impact on these plans.

The latest Compact was launched at a Conference in April 2005 with the 4 Codes of Good Practice, provided in a handy pull-out pocket,on

Reviewing and developing protocols for Monitoring and Mediation is current work for the Bedfordshire & Luton Steering Group. National development on the Compact is towards a Compact Plus, setting a standard for local agencies to meet when applying for the delivery of government programmes.
Local Area Group & Local Management Group
The Local Area Group and the Local Management Group look at aspects of delivery for European funding into the area.
Training Consortium
VAL partners with other CVS to deliver an ongoing programme of training.
VCS Infrastructure Consortium
VAL partners a range of other infrstructure organisations around Beds & Luton to take forward the ChangeUp programme for the voluntary and community sector.
