Red is for Ruby Celebrations!
Celebrating their Ruby Anniversary, Voluntary Action Luton (VAL) ‘saw red’ at their AGM where over 50 guests, trustees and staff joined in the spirit by wearing something red to mark 40 years supporting voluntary activity in the Town.
Andy Calvert, Chairperson, gave an overview of the numerous different projects and work that VAL has carried out over the years and continues to do so today. A number of boards were on display showcasing VAL’s current work/projects, which include payroll services, training, Bedfordshire Local Involvement Network (LINk), the Luton Assembly, Tokko and the VolunteerCentre.
The meeting was concluded by the cutting of the ruby anniversary cake by the Chairperson and Treasurer, Pauline Simpson.
Everton Blake, the Executive Director of VAL said: “We were delighted to welcome two previous Executive Directors, Sandy Dallimore and Anne Laing to the meeting, between us we covered 19years of experience of directing VAL. It was good to see the trustees and staff working very much as a team to celebrate the work of the organisation which we hope will continue for many more years. You are cordially invited to mark the next big celebration in 10 years time to our Golden Anniversary!”
