What is a Social Enterprise?
A social enterprise is a business with primarily social aims such as employment, training and reinvesting in the community. Such act as a business and operate to generate a surplus thus enables them to achieve their social aims.
Social Enterprise activities range from Recycling, community cafes, day centres and training programmes that will enable the community to up-skill and enhance access to employment for individuals who might otherwise experience difficulties in maintaining employment.
Social Economy Project
The purpose of this project is to support the development of Social Enterprise by providing advice, support, and training in such matters as legal structures, management skills, market research and business planning.

- support, assist and advise social enterprises.
- develop links and access to appropriate specialist business training
- promotion of a social enterprise network locally
- link to a regional activity.
