The Tackling Poverty Together Group is an informal multi-agency group focused on tackling poverty together in Bedfordshire through information exchange, group support, advice and joint action (e.g. conference & research) on poverty. In addition the monthly ‘Poverty News’ is produced by the group. You can download the latest edition now:

A Statement of Intent developed by the group and signed up to by a significant number of organisations in Bedfordshire is as follows:
'We acknowledge that poverty is a reality in Bedfordshire, and affects us all. We are committed to organising our services and developing partnerships with others, to take positive action to tackle poverty together in Bedfordshire.'
The group comprises representatives from the following organisation:
South Beds District Council, Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, Bedford Community Rights Centre, Bedfordshire County Council, Mid Beds. District Council, Bedford Borough Council, Beds. Pilgrims Housing Association, Bedford Primary Care Trust, Bedfordshire Heartlands PCT, Infotrain, Bedford Citizens Advice Bureau and CVS - Mid & North Beds
Research
The Tackling Poverty Together Group undertakes research into and around financial exclusion in Bedfordshire. Since financial exclusion has a wide range of influencing factors, TPT have broken down its research into a number of projects
