Quality & Best Practice Workshops

Proving that your work is of a certain ‘quality’ or ’standard’ is becoming increasingly important in the competitive world of seeking funding. Organisations need to be able to both explain their work in terms of ‘outcomes’ and carry it out in a safe and well managed environment.

Quality Standard and Best Practice Workshops

An Introduction to Sustainable Funding

Tuesday 7th July 2009 - £20 per delegate

The course is for Chief Officers, trustees and fundraisers of frontline organisations who want to look at all possible sources of funding, and diversify their income streams

The aim is to encourage and enable voluntary and community groups to adopt a sustainable funding mix through:

  • an understanding of the role playing and financial management play in sustainability
  • income diversification — exploring a sustainable and diverse mix of income sources including donations, grants and earned income
  • considering generating income through contractual work and trading goods and services

Fundraising and the Law

Tuesday 15th September 2009

This is an excellent course that covers the main laws and regulations that organisations and community groups need to be aware of in their fundraising activities. Not to be missed!

Project Management

Thursday 1st October 2009

Getting the funding can sometimes be the easy bit. You then have to make the project work. This course is aimed at those with little to no experience of managing a project. It will examine the importance of project management, and give an overview of the key issues to consider.

Creating a Better Business Plan

Thursday 8th October 2009

If you are looking for larger amounts of funding, most funders will expect applicants to have a Business Plan. This course will explain what a Business Plan should include and how it can help with developing and sustaining the work of your organisation.

Making a Good Funding Application

Thursday 3rd December 2009

If you are new to writing funding applications this is a great course about the skills required, what funders are really looking for, and the ability to avoid common pitfalls.
