YMCA Bedfordshire

SleepEasy - Will you sleep rough so others don’t have to?

Saturday 3rd to Sunday 4th March 2012

YMCA Bedfordshire are pleased to announce that we will be doing a fundraising event and Sleep Easy on Saturday 3rd – Sunday 4th March, 2012 which will be held in the grounds of the Bedford High School for Girls. Sleep Easy is a sleep out which is aimed at raising awareness of homelessness within our local community.

On Saturday between 11am and 5pm we will be hosting a fundraising event with entertainment, art and craft stalls, games and activities for all the family. This will be followed by inviduals taking part in the 12 hour 'SleepEasy - sleeping rough so others don't have to' from 7pm Saturday 3rd March until 7am Sunday 4th March 2011.

YMCA Sleep Easy challenges people to think about the issues affecting young homeless people by asking them to give up one night to sleep out in their local community.

Funds raised through sleeping out will enable YMCA Bedfordshire to carry out vital work in our community with young people and vulnerable adults who find themselves without the basic necessities for living.

In the past two years over 1600 people have braved sub-zero temperatures raising a staggering £250,000 to help young people across the UK supporting various YMCA’s.

YMCA BEDFORDSHIRE is a Christian charity seeking to serve the community through its extensive supported accommodation and resettlement work, recreational, educational and personal development training and has been working with young people since 1991.

So book Saturday 3rd March 2012 in your diary and come along and make the event a roaring success.

For further information contact the Youth Participation Co-ordinator, Dele Johnson or Amy Elliott on on 01234 307040/ 07508 807440 or email sleepeasy@ymcabedfordshire.org.uk
