Community & Voluntary Service (CVS):

• is a Registered Charity, and the only independent umbrella organisation for voluntary organisations and volunteers in Mid & North Beds
• the ‘Service’ consists of voluntary organisations. Membership is also open to people from the statutory and private sectors and to individuals
• helps develop and support new and existing voluntary organisations
• works with other CVS/CVOs within the County, as the Consortium, extending and improving community development
• provides a regular mailing service and newsletter - Beds-Spread - containing up-to-the-minute information on a variety of subjects
• facilitates communication between voluntary, statutory, private and commercial sectors
• provides services and resources - most of which are free - to voluntary organisations and community groups in Mid & North Bedfordshire. Membership entitles you to discounted rates on some of the services which carry a charge

Annual Membership entitles you to:

• Advice, information, support and development
• Training
• Use of our Resource Centre/Library
• Advertising in our monthly news-letter Beds-Spread
• Mailing Service
• Free Legal Advice Surgeries
• Support and advice in setting up new groups
• Funding Advice
• Help with constitutions, business plans, charity registration, press releases, employment and recruitment issues and more

Cost

Membership for volunteer organisations is FREE for the period 1st April 2010 - 31st March 2011.
