Acorn Project:

FREE Training in Self Development

Funded by Migrants Impact Fund

The Acorn Project will develop the skills and capacity of the individuals to effectively engage in active citizenship, inlcuding volunteering and participate in decision making panels and public / civil life.

It is open to all people who have come to live in the UK. Their family members who are aged 19+ are also welcome to take part.

It will comprise of a series of workshops:

• Communication Skills
• Community Involvement
• Leadership and Assertiveness
• Problem Solving
• Presentation Skills

They will take place in February / March 2010 and will take place at times and venues which will fit into busy lifestyles.

Q-cas Training

Are you a community group?

BREC will be running a series of free training programmes over the next few years for groups that give information or advice to their communities.

It will help groups develop and improve their services to obtain a local quality mark called Q-cas.
