School Admissions from September 2010 Consultation

Choosing the right school for a child is one of the most important things a parent can do. All parents will want a school where their child can be happy, safe and reach their full potential in order to get the best start in life.

A new Code of Practice has been published which requires local authorities to consult with parents / carers and voluntary and community groups on the proposed admission arrangements for their schools for September 2010.

Bedfordshire County Council is consulting on behalf of the Bedford Borough Council and the Central Bedfordshire Council on the proposed school admission arrangements.

Parents / carers and voluntary and community groups are all encouraged to participate in the consultation which finishes on 28 February 2009. You can find out more about the proposed admission arrangements at www.bedfordshire.gov.uk
or go straight to the consultation paper at

www.bedfordshire.gov.uk/2010consultation

For more information about this consultation please contact the School Admissions Service at County Hall Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP, telephone 01234 718120.
