Finding the Right Funder

Funding may be available from a variety of sources. However, the first step to successfully secure funds is to identifying the right funder(s) who would be willing to support your project. Finding the Right Funder looks at the range of funding bodies and how best to identify the right funders for your project.

  • a fundraiser, treasurer or volunteer responsible for the funding of your groupnew to fundraising or would like to
  • improve your skills and knowledge
  • looking for funding for your organisation.

This workshop will enable you to ...

  • understand the different types of funding, from grants to income generation
  • research potential funders - what they will and will not fund and the trends
  • identify and get the right funder for your project
  • present the case for support in the most persuasive way
  • develop and maintain relationships with funders.

Trainer

Rizwana Zaman is Funding Adviser at Voluntary and Community Action and has three credits at level three on an Open College Network programme entitled Advising Voluntary and Community Groups on Funding Issues. She has taught Marketing, International Business and Business Communication in a local college for two years.

Venue

This training will be held in the Community Room at Bossard House, Leighton Buzzard LU7 1DA. This venue is fully accessible with parking available immediately behind Bossard House in the multi-storey car park.

Access and Individual Requirements

If you have any specific individual requirements to enable you to attend this event please let us know. Every effort is made to meet individual requirements, which might include; a loop system, sign language interpreter, wheelchair access, handouts in large print or special dietary requirements.

*Cost for members. Participants from a member organisation with an income of less than £5,000pa will have their fees returned upon attendance. There will be no refund of places cancelled seven days or less before the workshop or for non attendance on the day.
