Learning and Skills Briefings

The success of your organisation depends on the skills and qualities of your staff and volunteers. Supported by The Learning Partnership Bedfordshire and Luton, this event will provide information on the Government’s Train to Gain Programme, local training providers, funding sources, and guidance on developing learning within your organisation.

This is aimed at..

.. managers, trustees and anyone who has responsibility for ensuring staff and volunteers have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Programme 10.00am – 12.30pm:

  • A presentation on Train to Gain - a national programme to improve the skills of employees. Staff and volunteers in the voluntary and community sector can now access free or subsidised training in NVQs, literacy and numeracy skills, leadership and management and business skills
  • overview of local training providers, and funding for training.

Trainer

Jenny Allthorpe has over 25 years experience working in the voluntary and community sector in a range of training and development roles. She helped to establish a women’s employment and training group in Milton Keynes and worked for Councils for Voluntary Service in Derby and Northamptonshire as a Training Officer before coming to Voluntary and Community Action.

Venue

The 22 January workshop will be held at Katherine's Garden, Aragon Housing Association, Dunstable Street, Ampthill MK45 2LG.

The 26 January workshop will be held at Voluntary Action Luton, New Bedford Road, Luton LU1 1SA.

Access and Individual Requirements

If you have any specific individual requirements to enable you to attend this event please let us know. Every effort is made to meet individual requirements, which might include; a loop system, sign language interpreter, wheelchair access, handouts in large print or special dietary requirements.
