Overview...
This workshop is about managing the overall health and safety process in your area of responsibility. It is intended to go beyond meeting health and safety legislation and move towards a situation where health and safety considerations are firmly embedded in the planning and decision making processes and the culture of your area of responsibility.

- Why health and safety is important in the workplace
- How and where to identify your own responsibilities within the legislation
- The legal requirements for organisations
- How to communicate the written policy statement to the relevant people
- When you are required to review your policy
- How and when to consult with staff on health and safety issues
- Where to find specialist expertise
- Ways of developing a culture of health and safety
- How to identify hazards and steps needed to put control measures in place
- How health and safety should inform planning and decision making
- Types of resources required to deal with health and safety issues.
The Trainer
This one day course will be led by Bob Chandler. Bob is a chartered safety and health practitioner and he provides a health and safety and risk assessment consultancy and training service to businesses and voluntary organisations in the Bedfordshire area.
Venue
The workshop will be held at Bossard House, West Street, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1DA. This venue is fully accessible. Parking is available in a pay and display car park nearby.
