Voluntary and Community Action
Voluntary and Community Action has been based at Bossard House, Leighton Buzzard since it was established on 5th November 1998. Last week they held their AGM and since this year also marked their 10th Birthday, it was a great opportunity to celebrate with their members and trustees and share their birthday cake.
Voluntary and Community Action is a registered charity that exists to provide help and support to all local voluntary and community groups. They offer free professional support and advice to individuals and organisations wanting to develop; provide essential training and workshops to trustees/committee members, staff, and volunteers; give funding advice and assistance and are active in communicating important information to local voluntary and community groups. Their support services include affordable mailing, printing and copying and equipment hire, and free internet access, use of their information library and computer use for local community groups. Voluntary and Community Action are also active at local government level, working hard to influence policy and decisions to ensure the voluntary and community sector are able to thrive.
