Health Matters!
Friendless, isolated and lonely... these are all words that can describe how people feel after a brain injury. Headway South Bedfordshire, is launching a new project involving volunteers that will help these people get back into the community.

This local charity is one of a number of organisations attending Health Matters, an event to promote health-related services provided by voluntary groups in South Bedfordshire.  The event, run by Voluntary and Community Action South Bedfordshire, will be held 11.30am to 2pm on Thursday, 6th October at Chalgrave Memorial Hall,Tebworth.

Speakers from Headway South Bedfordshire, the Befrienders and Spurgeons Childcare will be talking about the work they do to support people with health problems. Other organisations attending will cover areas such as advice and information, respite care, befriending and self-help groups.

Many of these organisations rely on volunteers and are always looking for new recruits. Anyone interested in volunteering or wishing to attend the event are invited to contact Voluntary and Community Action South Bedfordshire tel. 01525 850559.
