Looking for Bright Sparx

Sparx Theatre Company is the only theatre group in South Bedfordshire who specifically provide the opportunity for those who have learning and physical disabilities to participate in performing theatre. Led by a professional theatrical practitioner and a small band of volunteers, the group runs weekly workshops at Leighton Buzzard Theatre, working with members to share ideas and skills to create and perform shows. The members love having the chance to show their artistic and performance abilities but the group needs more volunteers to make this happen. One of the members of the group David said “I enjoy going to Sparx because I have made some new friends, we take part in all the activities, such as dance, movements and acting, and we like performing on the stage”.

Do you like to have fun, have a non judgmental, enthusiastic attitude and could give a small amount of time each week term time only, to help with drama activities, plays and productions? Or if regular commitment is not for you, you may prefer to help with set design or costumes for their forthcoming ‘Summer Show’, which is to be held at Leighton Buzzard Theatre in July.  You don't have to be experienced in theatre you may just have an interest in painting, carpentry, sewing or general D.I.Y. Just a few hours of your time really can make a difference!
