MS Society - Leighton Buzzard Branch – wheel & walk
A 5km wheel & walk on Saturday 3rd July 2010 is a great way to raise awareness of Multiple Sclerosis, also raise funds to help local people affected by MS, or raise funds for your own favourite charity.
There is no minimum sponsorship rule so if someone doesn’t want to find sponsors they can just pay a registration fee and enjoy the walk. We do however require only wheel & walk tee shirts being worn for the event.
Wheelchairs, pushchairs and electric scooters are all welcome but due to health & safety rules, no motorbikes or cycles can enter the walk.
The event starts in Parsons Close recreation ground, Leighton Buzzard and follows a circular route through the town centre, out towards Plantation Road before joining the Riverside Walk back to the town centre and returning to Parsons Close.
Each participant is required to register before the event and pay a non refundable administration fee of £10 [under 16’s £3 under 5’s free] (£20 on the day for adults and £5 for under 16’s) and receives a free wheel & walk tee shirt, bottle of water and route map, and for those completing the course will receive a certificate.
Registration in Parsons close starts at 10.15am in the wheel & walk marquee.
There will be a warm up team who will take participants through a light warm up prior to the wheel & walk that starts at 11am.
Registration forms can be down loaded from www.mssociety.org.uk/leightonbuzzard or by phoning Lorna Taylor on 01525 377099.
