Overview...

It is becoming increasingly clear that government organisations are replacing many grants to the third sector with contracts. It is equally clear that third sector organisations need to explore and ready themselves for the whole arena of commissioning including competitive tendering for contracts.
Effective Tendering requires an understanding of the policies and the practical background within which public sector procurement is taking place. It also requires a clear understanding of what procurement officers want to see in your tender document and how to ensure your tender scores well at the appraisal stage. This workshop will show you exactly what's involved and equip you with the skills and knowledge to gain an advantage over your competitors.

Content…

  • learn about EU legislation
  • understand the processes involved in procurement, including the procurement routes, pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ), open, restricted, negotiated and e-procurement procedures
  • consider how to improve tender preparation
  • consider model appraisal schemes and a scoring scheme
  • find out where public service tendering opportunities are publicised
  • understand the potential impact of tendering and public service delivery on an organisation
  • have a go at completing a tender

The workshop will be held at Bossard House, West Street, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1DA. This venue is fully accessible. Parking is available in a pay and display car park nearby.
