Volunteers required for anti-viral delivery service

Volunteers with their own transport are needed to help with a home delivery service to people who do not have 'flu friends' able collect anti-viral medication on their behalf.

Volunteers will not need to be in contact with people who have flu symptoms; they’ll just be required to post a box of anti-virals and a leaflet to addresses provided.

This urgent plea comes from Central Bedfordshire Emergency Planning Department who wants to hear from people willing to be on a call-out rota and assist in providing this service.

Volunteers need their own transport, (car or motorbike) with MOT, driving licence, insurance, breakdown cover and a mobile phone. Mileage will be paid.

Contact the Volunteer Centre Central Bedfordshire (open Monday to Friday 9.30am-3.00pm) at Bossard House, West Street, to find out about this or any one of hundreds of other volunteering opportunities in the area. Alternatively, telephone the team on 01525 850559, email volunteer@action-centalbeds.org.uk
