The course is for those people who are involved in managing and supporting volunteers and will to lead to participants having a better understanding of the importance of being clear about why and how we use volunteers. 16/06/10 – Understanding Accounts

Unfortunately, most of us need to understand accounts at some stage – committee members, funders, staff and volunteers all come across accounts at various times; you

17/06/10 – Safeguarding Children

  • be aware of the main forms of abuse and be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse

24/06/10 - Funding Applications: Practical Skills for Writing Good Grant Applications

Filling out application forms for funding is one of the most popular ways voluntary and community organisations raise funds for their projects and programmes, yet for many the process is still one of the most daunting and time consuming tasks. If you are successful, the process can be very satisfying, if it is declined then it can feel like a very time wasting activity.

14/07/10 - Demonstrating Need and Understanding Outcomes

This workshop will build on the skills you gained from the Fit for Funding workshop and will:

  • explain how to identify and explain need for your work
  • define aims, outcomes, targets and milestones

Through using practical examples and an interactive workshop we aim to make sense of some of the most common problems groups have when making funding applications.

Health and safety policy sets out how health and safety issues are managed within an organisation. A Health and Safety policy is a commitment to planning and managing health and safety at work and is the key to achieving acceptable standards and preventing accidents and instances of work related ill health.

This workshop will provide you with an Appointed Persons First Aid certificate, valid for three years, as a nominated person to take charge in an emergency. It is suitable for small organisations that require a member of staff or volunteer to have basic lifesaving skills.
