Voluntary and Community Action holds a database of voluntary organisations and community groups that deliver services in Bedfordshire.
The information provided by these groups helps us to deliver appropriate and targeted information to those that request it. It also helps us to publish reports such as The State of the Sector 2006 and highlight the diversity of the sector.
Our newly launched Find a Local Group online database is another valuable resource available to members of the public, potential volunteers and policy makers to identify local groups working in a particular field or geographical area. Organisations that give their permission when filling in their Annual Directory Update Form will automatically get a listing on this online database.

This years Directory Update Form and Annual Survey is only two pages in total, compared to the six page Community Mapping Questionnaire that we sent out last year. It is shorter this year because we have left out all the classifications previously used. For those who are unsure where their organisation best fits within the categories on our database, below is a link to all our classifications:
