Working with Children

Below are resources to help local organisations understand the children's workforce agenda.

  • Quick Guide to the New Children's Plan

The Children’s Plan, published in December 2007 by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, sets out the Government’s strategy for support for children, young people and families up to 2020.

  • Essential Guide to Integrated working
If your organisation works with children you need to know about the move towards integrated working. But what exactly does it mean, how does it work in practice, and what are the implications for the third sector?

  • Introducing ContactPoint

The new national ContactPoint database will be the quick way to find out who else is working with the same child or young person, making it easier to deliver more coordinated support. The database will be available to authorised practitioners who need it to do their jobs. It is a key part of the Every Child Matters programme to improve support for children.

Voluntary Organisations Consortium (VOC) - A network of organisations working with children, young people and their families, across Bedfordshire.
