The Chief Executive is responsible, along with other Directors and the Leader of the Council, for the day to day running of the Council. They work closely with Town and Parish Councils, other public sector partners (NHS Bedfordshire, Police and Fire) and government bodies to manage the services delivered and ensure the authority meets it statutory obligations.

The Chief Executive is also responsible for business transformation, partnerships, planning and programme managment, performance and communications as well as building and managing the reputation of the organisation with key stakeholders.
