A presentation took place on the 18 October 2005 for a group of adult learners who successfully completed the ASDAN qualification titled "A Level 2 Certificate in Community Volunteering". This is a certificate awarded and accredited by ASDAN. The project is being run jointly between Bedfordshire County Council Adult & Community Learning & South Bedfordshire Voluntary and Community Action.
The project is aimed at individuals and organisations within the Voluntary and Community sector and supports them to achieve a formal level 1 and level 2 qualification appropriate to their work. The ASDAN qualification ensures that the learner has the appropriate work skills needed to help them achieve their full potential in their role as well as offer them a national qualification to take forward in either a promotion opportunity or a new position within another employer.
Another programme in both the level 1 and level 2 Certificate in Community Volunteering is starting in early January 2006. Anyone interested in this programme can contact Valerie Murray, Training Officer at Voluntary and Community Action South Bedfordshire on 01525 850559.
