Ambassador Clubs

Ambassador clubs are an exciting youth club for disabled children and young people. We provide 6 themed days throughout the year – either on Saturdays during term time or some weekdays during the School Holiday.

The Ambassadors have the opportunity to take part in lots of different activities and have a say in the content of each day.

To give you an idea the days are themed as:

• Going for Gold
• Go Team
• Creativity
• Campaign Day
• Healthy Living – London 2012 Day
• Ambassadors Choice

Each club begins with a fun Life Skills session delivered by Tutors from the National Star College – then after lunch the afternoon is down to the young people to decide on. Supported by our excellent club leaders and one or two of our volunteers, they’ll have the chance to do sports, arts and crafts activities and even get involved in campaigning! All staff and volunteers receive training and are CRB checked.

We also employ Healthcare Assistants and where necessary qualified nurses to support young people with personal care and medication.

For the Ambassadors these clubs are just the beginning and provide a potential stepping stone to a range of other options that Whizz-Kidz offers including:

• Wheelchair Skills Training
• Work placements within a wide range or companies and organisations
• Young Leaders Training
• Camp Whizz-Kidz
• Kidz-Board – informing policy and communicating at the highest level.

Our organisation has so much to offer young people on their life journey and all of these services are free of charge and delivered by highly trained and respected professionals.
