Welcome to Voluntary Organisations for Children, young people and families (VOCypf)!

We are a network of voluntary and community organisations who work with children, young people and families (CYP&F) in Bedfordshire.

Our mission: to champion the Voluntary & Community Sector!

VOCypf aims to:

• Disseminate important and relevant information to member agencies
• Advocate on behalf of, and for, the benefit of the sector at meetings
• Represent the Sector as and when necessary to ensure they are actively involved and influencing
• Encourage positive working relationships between the statutory and Voluntary and Community sector
• Support VCS agencies to deliver on the 5 Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes
• Offer a support network, enabling links to be made with other agencies within the same field
• Enable agencies to share resources, ideas and support.

Become a Member!
No matter what size your organisation, whether local, regional or national, if you work with CYP&F in Bedford Borough and/or Central Bedfordshire then you can become a member of VOCypf.

VOCypf is a completely free service, with a simple registration process to become a member.

• You can develop strong working relationships with similar organisations.
• You will have the opportunity to engage with agencies you may not have met before

Workshops
Members of VOCypf meet at least three times a year and aim to:

• Keep people up to date with local developments, with a specific time set aside for local statutory organisations to come and talk with us
• Have regular presentations from guest speakers
• Give members the opportunity to share information and discuss any concerns they have

History of VOCypf
Formerly known as the Voluntary Organisations Consortium, the network has been in existence for over 20 years. Renamed in 2009 to ‘Voluntary Organisations for
Children, young people and families’ it:

• came together from two existing networks: Family Network and Voluntary Organisations Consultative Group
• is a sub group of the Children’s Trust’s in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire
• brings together groups to promote a greater involvement in, and understanding of, local and national strategies
• It is a sub group of the Bedfordshire Children & Young Peoples Strategic Partnership – (C&YPSP)
