Consultation on CYP and families Grant DCSF

Many of you will have heard of the CYPF grant programme and may have applied for funding in the past or be funded through the grant programme at the moment.

The DCSF are consulting on the grant programme and would like your views and comments. NAVCA will be contributing to the consultation on behalf of members.

To date the programme has allocated £140 million to 200 third sector organisations and the DCSF now want to know how well you think the grant programme is being implemented and how it could be improved.

VCS engage national work around parenting this year

The Voluntary and Community Sector historically have provided a wide range of essential parenting support services often reaching the parts of the community that statutory services traditionally found hard to reach.

Since 2006 the parenting sector has undergone radical reform and received some substantial investment. This project aims to develop an overview of some of the needs and challenges facing the sustainability of the VCS parenting sector and within this to focus specifically on the issues relating to commissioning and workforce development.

In particular we aim to:

• ·        To review the regional and national challenges and support needs of the VCS parenting sector in engaging with the workforce and commissioning agenda
• ·        To support the engagement of the voice of the VCS parenting sector in the planning of emerging parenting qualifications
• ·        To use the findings to inform other stakeholders in their future planning of provision, support and capacity building.
